ENGLISH WEEK 2017 IN THE CONTEXT OF OUR ANNIVERSARY

2 de June 2017

TEACHING ENGLISH –OUR SCHOOL’S PRIORITY

“Prioritize the teaching of the English language as one of the tools of insertion of our students in a globalized and competitive society”. This statement expresses one of the most relevant tasks of our educational mission –teaching English. This task is embodied in the intensive academic work our English teachers do to encourage, promote and motivate their students so they can achieve higher and higher levels along the process of learning this universal tongue. Additionally, our students are given the option of certifying their level of management of this language by taking the international Cambridge English exams.

THE ENGLISH WEEK

The English Week, is a transversal and traditional School activity organized by the English Department. This year the event has a very especial connotation given it is being developed in the context of the 30th Anniversary of our Educational Institution, celebration that constitutes the guideline of all our regular 2017 school events.

During the English Week, the students of the American British School take active part in a variety of activities designed to provide them with an attractive opportunity for practicing English in a funny and cheerful environment, such as singing contests, posters designing, speaking activities and more.

STUDENTS FROM 3rd TO 6th, THE INITIATORS

The branches carry out the English Week in different moments of the year, being our students from 3rd to 6th responsible this time of taking the initial step. The event started with the traditional “Singing Contest”, in which the students of those levels participated interpreting a variety of songs in English. They also made commemorative budgets and greetings cards for their school.

AMAZING MURALS MADE BY EACH CLASS

Another brand new activity of the English Week this year was the creation and assembly of a big Mural related to the 30th Anniversary of the school made by parents and students of each class. After visiting the branches and taking pictures of the murals we were impressed by those precious “works of art” displaying photos of the students from previous years, timelines of the school’s history, beautiful messages and many other original elements.

We greatly appreciate the enthusiasm, commitment, effort and creativity shown by our parents and students. A warm greeting to all of them and we invite everyone to enjoy our photo gallery.
